Founded in 1965 by William 'Buck' Pegg and Reggie Rose (originally as Fiberglass Fabricators) in Fort Lauderdale, Florida; its first boat was a 15-foot tri-hull. After a 1967 fire and rapid growth, Chaparral moved to Nashville, Georgia, in 1976. It is now part of publicly traded Marine Products Corporation and is a leading US sterndrive boat manufacturer.
